Just opening a little over three years ago, Veg-N-Out has gained favor with the San Diego community quite quickly. Veg-N-Out is decorated with an Asian flare, complete with bamboo and rattan walls, tiki carvings, and Chinese fans. The Chinese characters for love, happiness, peace, wisdom, tranquility, and courage fly on flags outside the restaurant.

This quaint eatery offers limited seating, so some waiting may be required. It is worth the wait, believe me. The weekends are their busiest times, and reservations for parties of four or more would be a great idea. There is a small eating area outside in a patio area off of the sidewalk, and even more limited seating inside.

Despite the cool atmosphere the real attraction is the food itself.

The most unique thing about Veg-N-out is that it is really a non-meat burger joint. Veg-N-Out has a varied menu offering salads, smoothies, sandwiches, and side items like sweet potato medallions, and hand dipped seasoned onion rings, but the variety of gourmet veggie burgers to choose from will knock your socks off.
