Wakeboards For Girls

When it comes to wakeboarding there are only a handful of companies that put together really sweet wakeboard packages for girls. The wakeboard industry has been dominated in the past by men but women’s wakeboarding is catching up fast. Professional Women’s Wakeboarders like Corrie Dyer, Raimi Merritt, Emily Copeland Durham and many others have proved that in wakeboarding girls are a force to be reckoned with!

Four wakeboard companies that are on the top of their game when it comes to women’s wakeboarding equipment are Slingshot, Ronix, Hyperlite, and Liquid Force.

• Slingshot is one of the hottest wakeboard companies to hit the wakeboarding scene.  Started by Tony and Jeff Logosz, Slingshot has patented their FRT, or Future Response Technology, which allows for a greater FLEX in their board both in length and width. Slingshot leads the industry in kiteboarding and is redefining what wakeboarding should feel like.
• Ronix Wakeboards is a combination of the expertise of Danny Harf, Parks Bonifay, Chad Sharpe, and Emily Copeland-Durham.  Joining with Paul and Herb Obrien, these professional wakeboarders have created a company that dominates the wakeboard industry.  Parks Bonifay is all that has to be said when it comes to wakeboarding. 
• For over 19 years Hyperlite has been dedicated to the sport of wakeboarding.  Hyperlite has been wakeboarding since the beginning and will be wakeboarding until the end.  Their research and development in the field of wakeboarding pushes them to develop new and innovative ideas while maintaining the dependability of their products that wakeboarders have come to know and trust.
• Liquid Force is one of the biggest names around when it comes to wakeboarding.  With riders like Shawn Watson, Harley Clifford, and Amber Wing of their 2011 professional wakeboarding team they are a force to be dealt with, in fact, a liquid force.

The Slingshot Pearl takes performance to a whole new level when it comes to wakeboarding.  The Slingshot Pearl offers the smoothest pop with the added advantage of the softest landing too.  The wakeboard was named Pearl in a metaphorical way.  A Pearl is a rare find, something that takes time to produce, and ultimately a desired possession.  The Slingshot Pearl is similar in that it is the ultimate ladies wakeboard.  Like all Slingshot Wakeboards, the Pearl has the Future Response Technology which makes it lightweight and durable while giving it the utmost flexibility.  The Slingshot Pearl also has the new Single Shot Fusion Sidewall which is a seamless fusion from the core of the board.  It has an elliptical concave design which gives it quicker edge to edge response.

One of the older wakeboarding manufacturers in the industry is Hyperlite.  Hyperlite offers several different wakeboards for girls, but the most popular choice is the Blur. The Blur has a concave top deck giving more flexibility to the footbed quickening your response time when cutting from one edge to another.  The wakeboard releases off the wake easily because of its free style shape and subtle 3-stage rocker line.  The Blur features a thinner overall profile for maximum weight reduction and better flex.  The wakeboard is constructed with Hyperlite’s Satin Flex that responds more accurate to the pressures applied by the female wakeboarder.

Melissa claims the wakeboard performs well under any conditions, whether it is being towed behind a boat, or wakeboarding in a storm drain with a winch in LA, it makes no difference with the Melissa. The Melissa is smooth riding, with a ton of pop off of the wake because of the great flex in the board.

The Melissa wakeboard has an aggressive, continuous rocker providing a smooth, fluid way to carve but giving you a high arching aggressive pop. The Melissa is made with a Double Inside Single Concave styling through the center of the wakeboard to soften the landing while maintaining board speed.

Another great way to shop for women’s wakeboards is to look for used wakeboards for sale, or even last year’s model of wakeboards which are normally discounted when the new seasons merchandise is introduced.  Sometimes you can even find a wakeboard that is a blem, which means there is usually a small blemish in the graphics, which will do nothing to change the performance of the wakeboard. 

When you are considering buying your own wakeboard, make sure you do your homework. Shop around on-line for the best prices on wakeboards for sale, they can vary a lot. It would be a good idea to locate your local sporting goods store and see if you can rent, or demo wakeboards for the day, or even the weekend. That way you can try out the wakeboard to see if you like it before you actually buy it. Save money by buying last years graphics, or look for a wakeboard with a blem. Whatever you decide, remember to wakeboard responsibly and have fun!
